Book
As you probably know from this post, I like to read. I am currently reading The Science of Black hair.
I like to have information backed up by research. This book not only gives really good information, it gives you information that you can actually trace back to science. I am not done with reading it yet, but I am liking it so far. It cost about $30 (N4,800) minus shipping and while it may be regarded as being a bit pricey, I have to say that it is well worth it. A big bonus is that the information in the book is not just for natural haired girls – even if your hair is relaxed/chemically processed, you still benefit from reading it. It also has a section for caring for children’s hair.

I came across this blog on Myne Whitman’s blog. I have my own group there called: Natural Kids and Moms (Join me). I am now also a featured contributor on the blog. So far, I haven’t posted anything there that is not on this blog already but I will be posting some fresh posts there in the near future.
I like the idea of an online community for Nigerian mothers. A lot of us have the same challenges and joys and it is really good to share.
Equipment – Huetiful Steamer
I finally used my steamer. It does what a steamer should do – which is to provide a hot, moist environment that enables your conditioner penetrate the hair shaft so that your hair is moisturized. And all it takes is 15-20 minutes. There are a few things I wish I could change about it but all in all, I am glad that I bought it. I absolutely love the fact that I do not have to go to the salon to get my hair steamed. Yay!
