This past month, the Harmattan season came through in a big way with its characteristic low to zero humidity.
I steamed, deep conditioned and moisturized almost endlessly, yet the dryness persisted.
I finally gave up and put my hair in a protective style – twisted my own hair and then packed it up in an updo that hid my ends.
How did/do you survive the Harmattan?

i got a weave. I still remember to sprirz my hair, but my ends were really upset. So I put em in a weave till a better idea comes along.
Harmattan will soon be over and things can go back to normal
my name’s Chidi o.
Ahhh NN, if harmattan dealt with somebody’s hair this season, that person is me. I lost hair so bad that I almost cried. Serious o. Imagine trying to use about 30 minutes to try to detangle just one twist because the harmattan had made my ends knot up like crazy. I was so so frustrated that I just went to put my hair in kinky braids the next day. Kpschewwww.
Kpele. I actually had to cut off some hair because the tangles were so bad. I guess we have all learnt our lessons for the next harmattan season. Before it hits, we just go and get protective styles…
i like that, ‘protective hair styles!
Hi NN, i just cut my hair and i am tired ! yes!
am now guessing its the harmattan.
My hair is always hard no matter what i do( i do not do much) smiles
sea butter helps but not so much
can you make a moisturizing spritz for me and ship to me
(am kneeling down)
and the vegetable glycerin, how do i benefit from it and what mixtures do you suggest?
Y’all should come to Abuja it’s worse….and deep conditioning is not fun….well shea butter helps a whole alot believe me….
just ordered some stuff from your ahia thanks to respond
pls, how do u twist ur own hair???? it looks so nice, i wanna do it too.
I’m loving the harmattan! But I’m protective-styling anyway so my hair was already in yarn locs, that’s not to say my roots/scalp doesn’t get dry. It does, so I moisturise my scalp/roots everyday with my liquid-based moisturiser and I’m good to go.
