NITC3 – Pictures from the Event

The 30th of June was a wet day in Lagos. It had been raining non-stop for days before that and the rain didn’t leave the 30th out of its schedule.

Luckily, we had planned for a wet day so we were not completely taken by surprise. However the rain did disrupt things sufficiently for us to have a very late start. Despite the rain, guests turned up and the event was very well attended.

I planned to take a lot of pictures to share with you but unfortunately I was only able to take a few pictures as several other tasks took up my time. Organizing a meet up doesn’t stop when the event begins. It keeps going until well after it is done.

Screwy Haired Girl, Sherese Ijewere and I would like to thank the Omenka Gallery for giving us their space, our presenters for taking time out of their busy schedules to share their knowledge with guests, Chigo for compering the event and keeping things lively and also all of those that took time out of their busy schedules to attend. Last but certainly not least, we would like to thank all our friends, fellow bloggers, facebook friends and twitter buddies who spread the word and brought a friend or three.

I would personally like to thank Ajiri Avae for dressing me that day. Here’s what I wore.

See you at the next one!

Yeni of Adornment365 giving tips on how naturals can survive in a regular salon. She also styled my hair as part of a demo.
Cross Section of Guests
Omozo from O’Naturals styled African Naturalista (Ilola’s hair) as part of a demo. Unfortunately, Omozo had to run before the day ended and was not able to show off her hand work.
Another view of the hair style.
There was a lot of mingling
Despite the rain, they shopped, shopped, shopped.
This was the only vendor’s stall I was able to photogragh. She had all sorts of handcrafted wares on sale. Bags, bangles, necklaces, earrings, shoes, sandals. All were made with Ankara and beads. Lovely
More from her. Unfortunately, I don’t have a website address for her but she is listed on the NITC3 flyer.
