Learn to make lotions and creams - Emulsion 101

One of the inquiries I get most is about making natural skin care products and if I can teach a class. Due to the demand, I created the Emulsion 101 course and have successfully taught 2 classes. One in Abuja and another in Lagos. I have to say, that both times, I met awesome ladies and ended up having more fun than I thought I would!

The class has come round again and will run from Tuesday, 29th November and end on the 3rd of December. We will begin with an online class that will span 3 days - 29th, 30th and 1st. We will then meet face to face to practice all we have learned during the week.

Emulsions are the starting point for making products like Hair Conditioners, Body Lotions, Creams and more. By the end of the class, participants will be able to make a variety of products all by themselves.

This is not a “cream mixing” class so we will be making things from scratch. The idea is also to impact a flexibility in making any sort of emulsion based product so we will learn to write formulas. That’s right, you will be able to come up with your own unique formulae for any emulsion you want to make.

This way, you can make lotions and creams that will be great for hair and skin, for babies and grandparents, for you and friends.

Some of the things we will learn during the course are:

  • Basic Equipment, Hygiene, and Safety
  • Formula writing
  • Ingredient selection
  • Proper way of researching ingredients
  • Types of Emulsions

and much more! There will be homework and course notes to reinforce what we learn during the course.

So, what does it take to join the class?

  • A willingness to create
  • A good internet connection (remember that we will be online for 3 days)
  • N60,000 (payable before classes start)
