A haircare regimen is really important to help you start on your healthy hair journey. Taking the guess work out of hair care really helps you make sure you cover all your bases and hitting all the notes you need to in order to give your hair what it needs.
To make it easy for you, we have listed what you need to do every step of the way.
Pre-Poo
Pre-poo is basically what you do before shampooing.
Pre-poo with any oil of your choice. A lot of people choose coconut oil. Great choice as it has been scientifically proven to prevent damage and repair damage to hair. If your hair does not agree with coconut oil, choose any other oil.
To pre-poo your hair, apply oil to your hair for at least 15 minutes prior to washing.
The Natural Nigerian™ Black Soap Dandruff Shampoo can be used by anyone at all, whether you have “dandruff” or not. When used, your scalp and hair get a deep cleanse, so that any accumulated build up can be removed and the hair is revived.
If you have itchy scalp or dandruff, we have included a keratolytic agent which will help loosen dry skin on the scalp so that the shampooing process can remove the dry skin flakes.
Use only every 3rd or 4th wash. Hair too dry after you use it? Follow up with Natural Nigerian™ Bentonite Clay.
Natural Nigerian™ Bentonite Clay is one of the gentlest ways to wash your hair. Not as stripping as a clarifying shampoo, it can be used for every wash.
What to expect? Clean hair that is not stripped of its natural oils.
Also, Bentonite clay has an amazing softening effect on hair and will enhance your natural curl pattern.
Always follow up with a deep conditioner. We have to say this because some people feel that they don’t need one with a shampoo that leaves their hair so soft.
Natural Nigerian™ Protein Deep Conditioning Treatment
Protein Conditioners help to strengthen your hair. Our protein conditioner is formulated with hydrolyzed proteins which are able to penetrate the hair shaft.
Protein conditioners can be very drying to hair but we have formulated this Natural Nigerian Protein Conditioner to address this. It will leave your hair as soft and as bouncy as if you used a regular moisturizing deep conditioner.
Just follow the directions on the container and you are on your way to luscious, deep penetrating, strengthening conditioning treatments.
On wash day, after rinsing out your deep conditioner, put some softness back in your hair with the Natural Nigerian Moisture and Shine Leave-in Conditioner.
Formulated with small amounts of protein, this conditioner will also fortify your strands.
Wrapping your hair strands in a protective cloak, the moisture and shine ensures that your hair stays optimally moisturized. For best results, please follow with our favourite sealant, the Natural Nigerian Flax Seed Gel Twist & Curl Pudding.
Natural Nigerian Slip and Hydrate Leave-In Conditioner
We have formulated the Natural Nigerian Slip and Hydrate Leave-in Conditioner for those who want to have options. We are not kidding when we say you have slip. This conditioner will make the coarsest hair softer.
Formulated with absolutely no protein at all, the Natural Nigerian Slip and Hydrate Leave-In Conditioner is pure hydration.
The Natural Nigerian Flax Seed Gel Twist and Curl Pudding is a best selling creation for good reason.
It can be used in different ways.
1. Styling Aid for bouncy twists and braids that stay moisturized for a lot longer. Just use a little bit for every twist. When you loosen your hair, your twist out/braid out, will be defined yet moisturized.
2. As a Sealant to keep moisture in the hair. You can use this during your LCO as the “O”. That is the Oil/Butter part.
This is optional but if you like to line your scalp with pomade or even use a pomade as your sealant, rather than the Natural Nigerian Flax Seed Gel Twist & Curl Pudding, then use our Natural Nigerian Hair Conditioning Food.
